Alewife

DESCRIPTION

The Alewife is a medium-diving crankbait designed to run at depths of 7-9 feet. Its action attracts bass that are patrolling, suspended near structure or moving along drop-offs. Serving as a small herring, the Alewife offers a high-energy meal that bass find irresistible. During spring, when both bass and herring are spawning, bass take advantage of the abundance of prey. When fishing the Alewife, try a stop-and-go retrieve—alternating unpredictable pauses and bursts of speed to imitate an injured baitfish. Thanks to its vivid colors and lifelike appearance, the Alewife makes a tasty, nutrient-rich snack for both largemouth and smallmouth bass.
